The PAIN weather station.

Why you may ask why do we need a weather station? The answer is we can take the real local results and put together an environmental impact overview of the smoke and toxic output from this plant and how far it will go.

The nearest weather station run by the MET office is at Hucknall. This was too far away for our purpose. So Bernard Thompson our Chairman was set up with an accurate manometer (wind speed reader to you and me). Bernard has a weather vain near by so could accurately give all the readings we required. This data together with a known chimney release formula has allowed us to show you in an animation just exactly what the fall out field would have looked like with the data compiled.

The reason P-A-IN set up this project was the fact that in spite of the assurances by Veolia that the chimney filters would only emit fresh air, or gases that were non hazardous. We have since discovered that there are two types of filtration. 1) Hazardous burning with high end filters and 2) Basic Filters for Incinerators. The first option is very very expensive to install and run. However we have proved that basic incinerators need high end filters but will not be fitted due to profits. In addition we say that the existing & future plants, expelling gases should be monitored and made real time on the internet for everyone to see, by an independent monitoring agency. At this time the contractors Police themselves, which leads to fraud and abuse of the reporting system, and is not independent.

Hundreds of baby deaths a year are being linked to the pollution emitted by public incinerators. So the Filters are NOT doing the job they say they do.

We are also very concerned with climate change. Since we started recording the weather we have seen varied extremes of recorded weather.

INCINERATORS cause climate change FULL STOP they emit CO2 which is the biggest factor in creating green house gases. Our weather man Bernard is only to aware now of what is going on. LETS STOP THIS MADNESS NOW.
