To Talk or Not to Talk? Liaison?

Dear M T,

During the 'great debate' you said that NCC / Veolia had decided the facility's location 'two years ago'
- how does this accord with the reply provided by NCC to my question of
November 2005 (well within 2 years) where NCC claims that a suitable site had not been identified only 15 months ago??

Dear Mr D,

your below question is not to my mind a request for recorded environmental information (or in fact for any form of recorded information). I therefore think that the County Council has a discretion whether to answer it or not.

Until a suitable site is identified and secured for an energy from waste solution, until the pre-planning process is underway and until a contract for the Waste PFI has been completed, it is not appropriate for the County Council to respond to specific points in the absence of a legal requirement to do so.

RECYCLE AND REUSE

“Why not recycle and reuse than send things to rot or to be burnt”

RECYCLE AND NORMAL BIN.

Recycle and normal bin lived at 83 Flower Street. Recycle bin did not smell but normal bin did. Normal bin was jealous because his rubbish went to a landfill and an incinerator and Recycle Bin’s went to be reused. One day Normal Bin felt his rubbish was moving, “There is something in my bin and it is bugging me.” Said normal bin to Recycle Bin.
Recycle bin lifted his lid. “Well why don’t I look inside and see what it is”.
So recycle Bin looked in Normal bin, there wasn’t anything there except for bundle of Mr. and Mrs. Green’s fish from last night’s supper (they always have fish on Wednesday Nights).
They heard a strange noise coming from the end of the street, it was the Dustbin Men. Normal Bin didn’t want to be emptied out. Recycle Bin said, “Well, if you try hard enough you could get Mr. and Mrs. Green to complain that more things should be recycled because I’ve heard that there are plans to build an incinerator in our Village. Mr. and Mrs. Green could protest against the incinerator in favour of more recycling facilities like in Rainworth”.
“What a brilliant idea, I think I will just do that, but how?” replied Normal Bin.
Mr. and Mrs. Green had a dog that could write. Coco came past and stopped by, “Coco, will you write a letter to the Greens about protesting against the incinerator” Said Normal Bin.
“Well sure I can, I can write anything” Said Coco with a smile on his face. So coco did it, and the Greens helped protest. And good news approached, they now were able to recycle more and every body was happy.

I am trying to say that we will win if we put our hearts to it.
Come on HELP US! PLEASE HELP!

I have today written to Alan Meale M.P. asking him to respond to this obscene proposal which to yet again inflict on the village of Rainworth..we are under siege here with the the proposed Wind-farms....the building of industries/showrooms on Southwell Road West each week resulting in increased traffic....and now this Incinerator...they might just as well twin Rainworth with Chernobyl and be done with it.

I will let you know of the response.   DBH
